Celebrating the Women’s Voice and Leadership Project Completion!

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Women’s Voice and Leadership (WVL) project!

The WVL project Ethiopia funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) aimed to deliver an initiative that promotes a vibrant and sustainable women’s rights movement and contributes to the wider funding ecosystem in Ethiopia, consolidating the power and voice of women from across the country to lead their development, demonstrate their agency, and influence policy. Through grants, capacity building, and the creation of effective networks for collective action, women’s organizations gained the skills and resources needed to effectively advocate for women’s rights and gender equality.

The project has been implemented for the past five years in collaboration with PIE and four women collectives (NEWA, ECD, UEWCA, and EWLA) reaching 98 women organizations in total.

We are incredibly proud of the progress made and the invaluable experience gained by everyone involved. This project has equipped us to continue advocating for women’s empowerment in Ethiopia with renewed confidence.

A huge thank you to all the participating CSOs for their dedication and hard work! We look forward to continued collaboration with local women’s organizations in Ethiopia, furthering the journey toward gender equality and women’s empowerment.
