ECD-DANIDA Urban Refugee Project Training on Women’s Equality, Gender Violence, and Human Trafficking
December 12-13, 2024 Nifas Silk Lafto, Sub-City, Addis Ababa.
The ECD-DANIDA Urban Refugee Project in Addis Ababa hosted a crucial training session on the Role of Law Enforcement in Women’s Equality, Gender-Based Violence, and Human Trafficking. The training aimed to strengthen the child referral pathway in the Nifas Silk Lafto sub-city, a vital initiative designed to enhance the protection and support services available to refugees, particularly women and children, facing these challenges.
The training focused on empowering law enforcement officials and community leaders with the necessary knowledge and tools to combat gender violence, ensure women’s equality, and prevent human trafficking. The project aims to build a more effective, community-driven response to these issues by improving collaboration and strengthening local referral mechanisms, ultimately creating safer spaces for vulnerable populations in urban refugee settings.
