Educational access for impoverished children

One of ECD’s area of focus is educational access for impoverished children. As a result, the center has made an important impact on enhancing access to education for children from poor families. The center’s contribution includes its work in enhancing access to pre primaries for children from poor families. In many parts of Ethiopia, especially in impoverished areas and localities school aged children are kept at home missing out the key formation stage of their lives. In some poor areas where there is attempt to cater for the needs of pre primary children, there are inadequate facilities. education and subsequent gainful employment.

ECD has Supplied educational , outdoor playing materials, School uniforms to 17 pre-primary schools located in Amhara, Oromia, Harrari, SNNPR and Tigray regions and also Provided hearing aids, wheel chairs, crunches to students with disabilities.

Provide sanitary and educational materials to school girls’ club and create scholarship opportunities to outstanding girls.
Vocational skills training

Provided Garment training to high school young girls of grade 10 & 12 who are unable to join their higher learning institution and short term skill training for women living with HIV and provided them revolving fund scheme and help them set up their own business.
Entrepreneurship training
Tailored an entrepreneurship training hand-book for high school students. Provided entrepreneurship training to 1800 High school boys and girls with the objective of developing entrepreneurship mind set for young boys and girls.
